Hands on hips, hands under breasts

This main motif on mid is one of the hand on the hips or hand on the breasts motifs that are frequently encountered in Anatolian weavings. It represents a strong woman. History of this motif dates back to the mother goddess period in Anatolia. In this motif, the hands are either on side of the hips or on or below or over the breasts to feed. It is the living representative of the Neolithic period mother goddess belief.
